I'm an electronics engineer developing a small wearable device to help blind dogs navigate using echolocation — similar to how bats use sound to map their surroundings.
The device emits ultrasonic chirps inaudible to humans but within the dog's hearing range. The idea is that the dog's brain learns to interpret the returning echoes to detect obstacles ahead — no processing, no receiver, just sound. The dog does the rest.
This blog is to report progress and test results as we get them.
